Demining Machine Iskatel


From 20 to 23 May Moscow received the Integrated Safety and Security Exhibition – 2014. During the event, more than 500 members from several countries presented their latest developments in the field of security systems and various equipment. So, Bauman MSTU together with the plant Remdizel (Naberezhnye Chelny) presented a mobile highly secure complex of humanitarian demining named Iskatel. The new complex is designed for search and neutralization of explosive devices as various factory and handicraft production. Complex Iskatel is proposed to demine in areas where military operations were recently.

FGTk6HlUus-big-350Complex of humanitarian demining Iskatel is a wheeled chassis mounted with a set of armored and special equipment. As a basis for demining machine was chosen KAMAZ Voin, developed a few years ago. Chassis 6×6 should ensure high handling characteristics. In addition, the characteristics of the chassis allowed equipping the machine Iskatel with all necessary equipment: depending on the configuration the wet weight machines can reach 16.7 or 19 tons. Controversial feature of the chassis is the location of transmission units outside the armored hull.

???????????????????????????????Demining machine Iskatel is capable of carrying a team of sappers. In front of the case there are jobs the driver and commander, followed by the left side – crane control post. Along the starboard the seats for sappers are provided. In total, the crew of Iskatel consists of nine members. Depending on conditions, the crew can produce clearance as using remotely operated equipment, and personally. In the first case, people are protected by armor body and by the distance between the car and the explosive device.

On the rear platform of the machine loader cranes are mounted with the possibility of using the remote control inside. For proper operation of the crane the machine Iskatel is equipped with two outriggers. Using this equipment allows the crew to make demining at a safe distance. To monitor the actions of the robot arm there are two cameras. Video signal from the camera is displayed on the operator’s monitor. Such a system allows field engineers to work at a safe distance from the explosive device under the protection of the machine body. In this case, the crew of vehicle will risk only piece of equipment that is in close proximity to the object.

1401338517_isse_2014_leokuznetsoff_img_0348The news agency Rosinformbyuro quoted the chief designer of the Bauman MSTU Center for Special Machinery Mr. Popov, according to him the clearance machine Iskatel was developed as an alternative to complex and expensive robotic systems of similar purpose.

According to some reports, the complex Iskatel has already attracted the attention of potential customers. Russian and Kyrgyz military showed its interest in this machine, as well as representatives of some scientific and engineering organizations.

df9edd9691561a6c98fb65e17616b0c4It is alleged that the armored corps of Iskatel meets level 3 NATO STANAG 4569 standard or class 6a of the Russian GOST 51136-96. Armor can protect the crew not only from bullets and shrapnel, but from undermining of mines.

New clearance machine Iskatel was first shown at the recent Integrated Safety and Security Exhibition – 2014. This means that potential customers have learned about its existence only a few days ago and, apparently, have not yet made a decision to purchase such equipment.


Russian Helicopters to Present its Innovations at HeliRussia 2014


The Holding “Russian Helicopters” (a subsidiary of Oboronprom, part of the State Corporation Rostec) will attend and participate as the title sponsor of the VII International Helicopter Industry Exhibition HeliRussia 2014, which will be held from 22 to 24 May 2014 in Hall 1 of the IEC “Crocus Expo”. First day declared as “Day of Russian Helicopters”.

“Russian Helicopters” will show at the exhibition the actual range of civil and military helicopters, will talk about promising programs and the latest developments, as well as projects in the framework of international cooperation. Experts of holding will present for visitors an overview of trends and prospects of development of Russian helicopters in the international market.

Ми-171А2Public attention on HeliRussia 2014 will be fixed at new items of civilian Russian helicopter Mi- 171A2, Mi-38 and light helicopters Ka-226T and “ANSAT” that in the near future have to enter the market.

Participation program of the holding “Russian Helicopters” at the exhibition HeliRussia is traditionally rich and varied. On May 22 specialists of the holding will participate in the VI International Conference “Helicopter Market: Reality and Prospects”, dedicated to the growth of the market of helicopters.

This year at HeliRussia the Russian Helicopters is planning to sign a number of agreements on cooperation with its old and new partners.

Another light helicopter – Ka-226T, which can also be found on the stand of holding, ideal for use in dense urban areas and can be used by medical, emergency services and law enforcement agencies.

The helicopter is based on the celebrated family MI-8/17 and built up with the most effective solutions and technologies. Visitors will be able to get acquainted with another novelty holding – medium multi-role Mi- 38, which is designed to expand the lineup of models of the holding Russian Helicopters. The Mi-38 can be used as a multipurpose transport helicopter, flying hospital, used in the Far North.

HeliRussia is a key industry event, which is held annually in Moscow. This is the only exhibition in Russia, where Russian and foreign companies present world achievements in all helicopter industry – from design and manufacture to maintenance. The event aims to promote international cooperation in the helicopter industry.

Su-35S – Waiting for a New Contract


In early April the administration of United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) reminded about its plans for the construction of multi-role fighters Su-35S. Work is going according to schedule, whereby an existing contract for supply to the Air Force 48 of these aircraft will be delivered on time. Last batch of fighters under the current contract will be transferred to the customer in 2015.

Until the end of 2014 it plans to build, test and transfer another 12 military aircraft. In 2015, the military will have the last batch of aircraft under the current contract. The following year, the UAC will give to the Air Force 14 aircraft. By the end of 2013 the troops had already 10 Su-35s. Implementation of existing plans will allow augmenting the total to the required 48 until the end of next year.

Now it became known the approximate time of appearance of a new agreement. According to ARMS-TASS, the contract for the supply of the following 48 Su-35s will be signed in late 2014 or early 2015-th. Construction of the new aircraft will be carried out until the end of the decade. Thus, thanks to the two contracts, the total number of Su-35s in the armed forces will reach 96 units, and it will impact on the capabilities of the Air Force.


After performing two contracts, Su-35S will be one of the numerous fighters in the Russian Air Force, standing down only to the Su-27 and MiG-29 and their modifications. It should be noted that its characteristics are superior to existing new aircraft technology and therefore the gap in the amount can be compensated by qualitative superiority. As a result, the Air Force will be able to seriously renew the fleet of vehicles, both in quantitative and qualitative terms.

As follows from the current plans for the Air Force, Su-35S is designed to be a “transitional link” between the available technology and advanced aircraft T-50. This feature is reflected in its classification: Su-35S belongs to a generation 4++. This means that it meets certain requirements to the fifth generation, although the development is based on the previous generation projects.

57113ef0a954The Su-35S is equipped with modern avionics. A key component is the avionics radar N035 “Irbis”, equipped with a passive phased array antenna. To monitor the surrounding space and target search plane also carries optical-electronic system OLS-35. All necessary information is displayed on two multi-color LCD screen and the HUD in the cockpit.

1289934121_1External load of Su-35S can carry up to eight tons of different weapons. The aircraft can use all existing domestic guided and unguided munitions. There is a built-in automatic gun GSH-30-1 30 mm caliber.

Specifically to refer to the Su-35S experts coined the term “Generation 4++”. By its characteristics the aircraft cannot be considered representative of the 5th generation fighter. At the same time, its capacity is significantly higher than the fighters of  generations “4” and “4 +”.

Tor-M2U to Take Part in the Parade
