The crew of the “Brest” small anti-submarine ship held artillery firings as part of the exercises at the Northern Fleet grounds in the Barents Sea, head of the Northern Fleet press-service, captain 1st rank Vadim Serga said on Wednesday.
In the course of combat artillery firings, the units of the AK-176 and AK-630 batteries successfully worked out tasks of fight with the surface ship of an imaginary enemy in heavy maneuvering.
“The “Brest” small antisubmarine ship from the Northern Fleet Kola Flotilla held a tactical exercise aimed at defeating air and sea targets using shipboard artillery systems at NF ranges of combat training in the Barents Sea,” – said Serga.
After performing the artillery firings, the antisubmarine sailors crossed the conditional minefield with carrying out a qualification firing at a floating mine with the AK-630 complex. The crew also performed a bombing from the RBU-6000 reactive bomb thrower and worked out a set of measures to combat underwater sabotage forces and means.
