The total demand of the Russian army in the arctic version of the Mi-8AMTSh-AB (military version of the Mi-171) can be up to a hundred of units, Deputy Defence Minister Yuri Borisov told reporters on Tuesday.
“I think it’s dozens of vehicles, about a hundred,” Borisov said, responding to a question about the needs of the Russian army in helicopters adapted for arctic conditions.
Borisov said that last year, the Defense Ministry had ordered the Ulan-Ude aircraft plant (part of the holding “Russian Helicopters”) the first five of the Arctic series of the helicopter.
