Electronic Warfare Division in Trans-Baikal train to disable drones of imaginary enemy


Military electronic warfare units of motorized infantry compounds of the Eastern Military District stationed in Trans-Baikal Territory, held special tactical exercises to combat unmanned aerial vehicles and cruise missiles of imaginary enemy controlled by radio.

During the exercises will be worked out issues of cooperation and interaction of different stations and complexes jamming and intelligence as a new generation and the old workings. In addition, the staff of the departments with the help of an automated electronic warfare jamming stations “resident” will work on the issues and effects of disabling navigational systems of unmanned aircraft.


Golden Horn in Vladivostok is ready for the Sea Victory Parade


Ten sets of the equipment for the sea raid Victory Parade are set in the Golden Horn Bay in Vladivostok, according to the Pacific Fleet of the Russian Navy.
“This week lifting-and-mooring ship KIL-498 under the direction of the sea captain Anatoly Semenikhina Golden Horn Bay was carried out a complex of works on preparation of infrastructure for productions in the front line of surface ships and submarines. Total professionals Vladivostok group support vessels were found 10 sets of equipment common raid weighing 430 tons,” said in a statement.

Delegation of the Army of China to visit the Russian Airborne units


The delegation of the Russian Airborne Forces is going to visit the military units and institutions of Air Force of People’s Liberation Army of Chin, the press-service management and information of the Defense Ministry reported on Thursday.
The visit to China delegations of Russian Airborne Troops held under the leadership of Commander of the Airborne Troops Colonel-General Vladimir Shamanov and will last until May 1.

Russia’s Northern Fleet holds large-scale drills


Russia’s Northern Fleet is conducting a large-scale comprehensive exercise to test the readiness of its forces to protect a submarine base. According to the fleet’s spokesman, Captain 1st Class Vadim Serga, the naval forces are practising anti-sabotage defense of the fleet’s forces and coastal infrastructures.

“Taking part in the exercise are crews of a submarine division, anti-sabotage units, coastal units’ personnel and naval aviation. Tight interaction has been established between the authorities of the closed administrative entity (town of Zaozyorsk) with the regional offices of the federal security service FSB, Emergencies Ministry, Interior Ministry and the anti-terrorist commission,” Serga said.

First serial Il-76MD-90A to Defense ministry


The first Russian serial Il-76MD-90A, military transport plane, built at factory in Ulyanovsk, has been handed to the customer.

In all, the ministry bought 39 planes under the agreement signed in 2012.

Three previous examples are not yet used in military units.

This year the plant will fulfill two more planes, eight more planes are being worked at.

This Il-76MD-90A is a new modernized version of the well known Il-76.

Now the ministry studies the possibility to enlarge the order. India and China are among probable buyers of the planes in the future.

The same plant constructs also the Sukhoi Superjet family.

Atomic submarine “Ryazan” on berth


The atomic submarine of the Pacific fleet will be repaired on berth in Bolshoy Kamen.

The submarine is being analyzed and overseen to estimate the volume of works to be done.

For the moment everything is being done in the general schedule.

“Ryazan” is a third generation submarine which makes the bulk of the Pacific fleet. In 2008 it executed the passage from the Northern fleet to the Pacific fleet under the ices of Arctic.

Defense ministry creating a new armoured roader


Russian defense ministry has made the decision to develop a new multi-purpose unified engineering armoured vehicle of the new generation.

The new vehicle will bear a machine gun, means of radio electronic combat and GLONASS system. Previously other types of vehicles were developed for mountain areas.

The roader has the task to secure the troops movement, even under the enemy’s fire.

Besides the vehicle will have different road-building equipment to provide for its functions. The new vehicle will be able to work in water and in temperatures of —40 до +40C.

This project costs about 350 mln roubles for three years, the first trials will be executed in 2017.

The new vehicle is designed to work with two soldiers onboard. The manned unit is designed to host at least ten engineer soldier.

Soldiers from Russia and Belarus in research works in Brest


Head of the department for the Russian defense ministry informs that soldiers from Russia and Belarus together participate in research works in the Brest fortress.

The new head of the department was appointed on April, 29.

In august soldiers of the both armies will be engaged in research works in the region of Leningrad.

These works are organized according to the joint plan of the Defense council of the CIS countries for 2015.

Military engineers to extend Crimean pipelines for 400 km


Engineers of defense ministry will develop pipelines in Crimea, increasing them to 412 km. This project will allow to provide the peninsula with fresh water.

The vice minister informs that these pipelines are developed to provide water to two main directions in Crimea.

The first lines go to Kerch, Feodosiya and Sudak.

More than 500 soldiers and 200 units of military and special equipment participate in the project.

Ukraine provided for 85% of Crimean needs in fresh water from Dnieper. After Crimean return to Russian sovereignty the water supply was completely stopped.
