Russia’s Defense Ministry declassified unique documents about early days of WWII

The Russian Ministry of Defense has for the first time published unique documents about the early days of World War II on its website, the press service of the department reported on Monday.

“A new documentary exhibition called “The first day of war” was opened today to the wide audience on the Internet portal of the Russian Defense Ministry. The exhibition contains a collection of historical documents from the Central Archives of the Russian Defense Ministry on the events of the first days of the great conflict,” – a release said.

The defense department publishes declassified documents as part of the “Electronic Document Collection” series placed in a special section “Victorious May.” The collection also contains combat reports and intelligence reports of the first day of the war from all special military districts of the Soviet Union.
