Military engineers of Southern Military District trained troops crossing ravines in the course of drills in the North Caucasus.

More than 1,000 troops and around 200 pieces of equipment have taken part in artillery drills in Russia’s North Caucasus and the South Ossetia republic, the press service of the Southern Military District said on Friday.

The military exercises were held on firing ranges of Dagestan, Chechnya, North Ossetia-Alania, South Ossetia and the Stavropol Territory.

The drills involved Zoopark-1 modern radar complexes, Khrizantema-S supersonic anti-tank missile complexes, Msta-S self-propelled artillery weapons, Tornado-G modernized multiple launch rocket systems and Podnos mortars.
