The fourth conference on the International Security opens in Moscow on Thursday: delegations from 15 countries are led by Defense Ministers.
The conference “Global Security: Challenges and Prospects” will be held in the hotel “Ukraine”. Russia has invited guests from 80 countries, including NATO states. Deputy Defense Minister Anatoly Antonov said that more than 300 delegates confirmed their participation.
The participants in the conference will discuss, in particular, the threat posed by the “Islamic state” terrorist group and security mechanisms in the field of conventional arms in Europe.
Russian Navy has adopted a new deep-homing torpedo “Phizik”, maximum range is up to 50 km, a source in the Russian Defense Ministry informed.

Eighteen technicians and four pilots from Belarus are reported to be in Russia now for training.
US military plans concerning missile defense and “global strike” threaten the strategic nuclear balance, said Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, Army General Valery Gerasimov.
“Along with the creation and deployment of strategic missile defense systems concerns are caused by the implementation of the “global strike” concept by the United States. It is possible that non-nuclear means of the “global strike” will become a reality in the foreseeable future,” – said Gerasimov, speaking at the International Security Conference in Moscow.
The general explained that the “global strike” concept includes development of non-nuclear precision strike weapons of global reach. Despite the considerable financial costs and technical complexity, the work in this area does not stop.
