Gunners of the separate motorized rifle brigade of the Western military district held live-fire exercises in the Leningrad region, the press service of the district reported on Wednesday.
“According to the plan of the teachings, a group of heavy tracked equipment and manpower of the imaginary enemy went into the offensive. 122-mm self-propelled “Gvozdika” howitzers created an impassable area with artillery fire on the way of the “enemy” thus stopping the attack and approach of the “enemy’s” reserves. Unmanned aerial vehicles were used to control hitting targets simulating military equipment and weapon emplacements of the imaginary enemy, as well as to assess the situation on the “battlefield”. They transmitted exact coordinates and video image of combat firings to the command post of the artillery battalion,” – the press service said.
