“Novorossiysk” and “Rostov-on-Don” to come back to home base before the end of 2015


The arrival of two new diesel-electric submarines of Project 636.3 “Novorossiysk” and “Rostov-on-Don” to their home base on the Black Sea Fleet is scheduled before the end of 2015, Interfax-AVN informed with reference to the Chief of the Navy Minister Viktor Chirkov.

According to him, now a special base is formed for submarines. Six submarines of this project are is scheduled to base at the Black Sea Fleet.

“Novorossiysk” and “Rostov-on-Don” were given to the Navy in 2014. Launch of the third ship – “Stary Oskol” – took place in August of last year, to date, it completed its state tests.
