The Government of India has expressed interest in setting up a joint Russian-Indian production of Project 11356 frigates in the country, CEO of the Baltic Shipyard “Yantar” Oleg Shumakov said in an interview.

From 2003 to 2013, Russia delivered six frigates of Project 11356 to India, which were built at the “Baltic Plant” in St. Petersburg and Kaliningrad-based enterprise “Yantar”. The first three ships have Russian cruise missile complexes “Clab-N” on board, and another three frigates are armed with “Brahmos” cruise missiles of Russian-Indian production.

Ships of this series have a displacement of about 4 million tons, length of 125 meters, speed of 30 knots and a crew of 180 people.
