India is currently actively negotiating on the possible purchase of the Russian K-226T helicopters, but the terms of conclusion of the final contract have not been decided yet, Indian ambassador in Russia P. S. Raghavan told reporters on Friday.
In mid-May, the media reported that India had approved the purchase of a batch of helicopters produced by Russian “Kamov”. It was explained that 197 helicopters would be produced in India. The contract is worth 30 billion rupees (about 467 million dollars).
On Thursday, head of the “Helicopters of Russia” holding company (includes “Kamov”) Alexander Mikheev said that in the near future Russia expects to receive an official decision about the launch of India’s production of the light Russian Ka-226T helicopters in this country.
