The fourth of a total of six Varshavyanka class submarines of Project 636.1 that Vietnam ordered from Russia has been delivered to Cam Ranh Port in the central part of the country on Tuesday.
The Da Nang submarine was transported by the Dutch heavy load carrier vessel Rolldok Star. Its unloading and the submarine’s putting afloat will be carried out within the next two days after all the necessary administrative formalities and customs documentation execution are completed.
To date, Vietnam’s naval forces include the first three boats supplied by Russia – the Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh and Haiphong. The submarines equipped with the standard package are supplied to the Vietnamese side with the Club-S missile strike system.
Russian Navy will present for the first time at the International Maritime Defense Show in St Petersburg autonomous underwater vehicle “concept”, designed to work at a depth of thousands of meters, said on Monday the spokesperson of the Defense Ministry of the Navy Captain 1st Rank Igor Dygalo.
International Maritime Defence Show will be held from 1 to 5 July 2015 in St. Petersburg.
“For the first time at the International Maritime Defense Show will be presented to autonomous underwater vehicle” concept “designed for search-finding work at a depth of one thousand meters,” Dygalo said.
In light of the Western sanctions, Moscow stepped up its cooperation with China, including in the energy and defense sectors, with the two countries signing large energy deals and conducting joint military exercises.
Shoigu said during a bilateral meeting with his Chinese counterpart Chang Wanquan:
“Against the backdrop of the current international situation, the strengthening of friendly ties between the armies of China and Russia plays an especially crucial role. This is our common contribution to peace and stability.”
On June 25 the first flight of the Tu-214SR (machine 027), built on the KAZ named after Gorbunov – the branch of PJSC “Tupolev” took place.
Tests of the aircraft are carried out in the air by test pilot of class I, Deputy Chief of Flight Service Alexey Ryabov.
In total 15 flights scheduled to perform.
After the full range of ground and flight tests of the new aircraft will be transferred to the relay operator.
The Mi-28N, Mi-26T and Mi-8MTV5 attack helicopters will enter service of the Army Aviation of the Leningrad, Pskov and Smolensk regions until the end of 2015, head of the Western Military District press service, Colonel Oleg Kochetkov.
“New combat vehicles of the army aviation are equipped with the latest electronic systems and systems that make it possible to perform training and combat tasks at any time, in adverse weather conditions, in a difficult interference situation,” – he said.
The new unified platform to replace the IL-38 and IL-20 aircraft in the interests of naval aviation of the Russian Navy will be introduced by 2020, chief of the Russian Naval Aviation, Major-General Igor Kozhin told reporters on Tuesday.
“The platform is now being selected. By 2020 it will be introduced, there will be a unified structure”, – said Kozhin, answering journalists’ questions about the date of the new platform introduction.
According to the chief of the naval aviation, the unified platform, created to replace the Il-38, as well as other anti-submarine aircraft, will be completely new and will replace all existing patrol aircraft.
Russian Defense Minister, Army General Sergei Shoigu and his Chinese counterpart, Colonel-General Cháng Wànquán will meet in St. Petersburg to discuss international security issues and military-technical cooperation.
“The meeting will be held “on the margins” of the conference of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization defense ministers,” – head of the press and information service of the Russian Defense Ministry, Major-General Igor Konashenkov told reporters.
On Tuesday, Shoigu arrived at St. Petersburg, where he will chair a meeting of the SCO states Defense Ministers. The conference, in particular, will discuss ways of consolidating efforts to adequately respond the new challenges in the area of the SCO responsibility.
The fifth modernized production anti-submarine IL-38N “Novella” aircraft was solemnly handed over to the Naval Aviation command of the Russian Navy as part of the state procurement.
The aircraft was named after chief designer of the search and targeting system “Novella-P-38”, installed in the aircraft, Fyodor Zolotukhin.
“The modernization included installation of a new search and targeting system “Novella-P-38″ in the aircraft, which greatly expanded the scope of tasks solved by the aircraft and their combat capabilities,” – “Ilyushin” representatives explained.
The NBC troops of the Russian Federation will receive new equipment in 2016-2018, deputy chief of forces, Major-General Igor Klimov said on Saturday.
“We have modernized the equipment, and development work is carried out in accordance with the state defense order. It will help us to replace the vehicles for new, modern and perspective ones both in terms of reconnaissance, and in terms of special treatment, as well as in terms of aerosol disguise, in 2016-2018,” – said Klimov.
He added that within the next two years, the NBC troops plan to receive new reconnaissance vehicles.
This year, the Defense Ministry plans to complete the construction of 45 facilities to accommodate new submarines of the Northern and Pacific Fleets, as well as in the Novorossiisk naval base, said head of the Defense Ministry, Army General Sergei Shoigu, on June 29.
At a meeting with the leadership of the Ministry, he stressed that the construction of infrastructure facilities for the Navy guarantees the admission of new ships and submarines in time.
“This year we will have to complete the construction of 45 such facilities to accommodate new submarines in the Northern and Pacific Fleets, as well as in the Novorossiisk naval base. In addition, it is planned to take into operation 15 already constructed facilities in the North and Black Sea fleets,” – said Shoigu.
