Servicemen of the Eastern Military District will participate in more than 40 large-scale exercises in summer, including international ones, said head of the Eastern Military District press service, Colonel Alexander Gordeev.
More than a third of them will be held in an unfamiliar area, he said. Gordeev noted that the readiness of the Marine brigade for the summer combat training in Kamchatka was checked by EMD commander, Colonel-General Sergei Surovikin.
“The most important of them will be a joint Russian-Mongolian exercise “Selenga-2015″ which is to be held at the Tsugol ground in the Trans-Baikal region. The first stages with a joint crossing of water obstacles and tactical landings and bilateral exercises of the army and brigade-level will be conducted as part of the teachings,” – said Gordeev.
