Russian Defense Ministry buys 150 working dogs to search for mines

The Russian Defense Ministry has announced a tender for the supply of working dogs for the mine and investigative service, for this purpose the agency plans to allocate up to 7.5 million rubles, the application placed at the public procurement portal reads.

According to the tender, the Ministry of Defense requires 150 dogs aged from four to eighteen months of Alsatian, German Shepherd and Belgian Shepherd Dog (Malinois) breed at a price of 50 thousand rubles per animal.

Applications for participation in the tender will be accepted until June 18, the results of the contest is scheduled to be announced on June 29. Animals must be delivered before 15 November 2015 to the military unit number 32516 located in the village of Orudevo in the Moscow Region.
