Russia could supply advanced S-300PMU2 systems to Iran


Russia, in case of the conclusion of the relevant contract could supply Iran with anti-aircraft missile system S-300PMU2 with improved performance characteristics, the director of the Center for Analysis of World Arms Trade, Igor Korotchenko told RIA Novosti.
Previously, the agency Sputnik, citing a source in the Defense Ministry of Iran, reported that the agreement on Tehran’s nuclear program reached by the country and six international mediators can give it the access to more modern air defense complexes, than anti-aircraft missile system S-300. The interlocutor of Sputnik also noted that the agreement reached in Vienna, and it points about importing weapons would not affect the transfer of air-defense systems to Iran, despite the fact that the date of the supply of these systems is still to be determined.
