Russia and Germany may develop means of communication for the Indo-Russian transport aircraft

Russia’s United Instrument-Making Company (UIMC) affiliated with the state-owned corporation Rostec discussed the opportunities for a joint development of a communication package for the Russian-Indian transport aircraft with Germany’s Rohde & Schwarz, UIMC press service told TASS on Monday.

“We confirmed intentions for joint work and prepared our proposal for the Indian side for the next round of negotiations,” UIMC said.

Furthermore, UIMC held a series of successful negotiations with representatives of Australia, France, Czech Republic, India, Republic of Korea and Belarus. “Opportunities for cooperation in the field of aviation, radar equipment, communications and control means were discussed at the meetings,” UIMC said.

Russian Navy will test deep-sea diving complex for the first time in nearly 30 years – they will begin in September on the rescue ship “Igor Belousov”. The chief of the search and rescue of the Russian Navy Captain 1st Rank Damir Shaikhutdinov told reporters on August 31.

The Northern Fleet flagship, heavy nuclear missile cruiser “Pyotr Velikiy” will undergo scheduled maintenance in the near future, head of the Northern Fleet press service, Captain 1st Rank Vadim Serga said on Monday.

The ship will be repaired at the 82th shipyard in Roslyakovo (Murmansk region), the workers of which are completing the preparation of a floating dock for the cruiser.

According to Serga, the repair work on the Northern Fleet flagship are carried out in a planned manner in full accordance with the terms stipulated by the contract.

Developer: newest IL-112V transport aircraft to be Russian

The newest light military transport aircraft Il-112V will be made entirely of Russian units; at the moment, the problem of substitution of the three remaining Ukrainian units is being solved, said Chief Designer of “Ilyushin Aviation Complex” (JSC “IL”) Nikolai Talikov on Friday.

“The task of import substitution in this IL-112V aircraft has been set. It has three Ukrainian units left; the issue of their substitution is being solved. The aircraft will be completely, one hundred percent Russian,” – said Talikov at a round table held during the MAKS.

He also said that the Il-112B trials for military tasks will be held in 2019.

Commander of Aerospace Forces: Yak-130 of armed forces to receive laser rangefinders

Russia’s Defense Ministry is interested in the improvement and further modernization of the Yak-130 combat training aircraft, in particular, in their equipment with laser rangefinders, Chief of the Airospace Forces, Colonel-General Viktor Bondarev told reporters on Saturday.

“Devices for generation of smoke are meant for our aerobatic team “Wings of Tauris” and laser rangefinders are to be used for the aircraft, as it is prescribed by tactical and technical requirements, to be able to apply all kinds of guided weapons. And it has everything to do that – all possibilities and a  huge modernization potential, so we are considering the matter and will install them,” – said the general.

Russian Navy aviation to receive 30 aircraft by year’s end

Russian naval aviation will receive 25 new and 5 upgraded aircraft by the end of the year, Defense Minister, Army General Sergei Shoigu said on Monday.

Shoigu pointed out that the Russian naval aviation is on duty in all parts of the world ocean, takes an active part in the fight against piracy, as well as in search and rescue operations.

“Anti-submarine aircraft make regular flights to the sea and ocean areas, ensuring the security of Russia in the underwater environment,” – the Minister said.

Military pilots to receive new airstrip for training after exercise in the Orenburg region

Airstrip, first deployed on large-scale exercises in the Orenburg region, will remain after the end of the maneuvers for training pilots, the commander of the 14th Army Air Force and Air Defence, Lieutenant-General Viktor Sevostyanov told journalists on Friday.
“By decision of the commander of the Central Military District, I was told to keep the combat readiness of the airstrip,” – Sevostyanov said, noting that the airfield will be used to train pilots.

According to him, for a safe takeoff and landing aircrafts should climb or fall just above the aerodrome where the plane taking off is guaranteed not to be able to fire on enemy ground.
