The MiG-35 fighter, which the Russian Defense Ministry plans to purchase in the future, will find customers abroad due to its excellent performance, said Commander of Aerospace Forces, Colonel-General Viktor Bondarev.
He noted that the maneuverability of the MiG-35 is “much higher” than that of the MiG-29. Moreover, the fighter will be cheaper than the “Su” aircraft lineup and easier to operate.
Earlier on Wednesday, Bondarev told reporters that the MiG-35S was being developed on the order of the Russian Defense Ministry and would be completed in 2017. After completion of state tests the aircraft will enter service with the further financing of purchases of more than 30 units. The contract on the purchase of the MiG-35S “is scheduled to be concluded in 2018”.
