Russian Defense Ministry interested in “Kalashnikov” landing craft

Russian Ministry of Defense praised new production of concern “Kalashnikov” – landing craft BC-10 and BC-16 in the near future the Ministry of Defense plans to increase their purchases, he said in an interview with RIA Novosti CEO Alexei Krivoruchko.

Kalashnikov Concern, is set to unveil its latest designs, including drones, landing boats and the AK-12 assault rifle, at the Army-2015 expo, the company’s press service said Tuesday.

The inaugural Army-2015 forum will be held on June 16-19 outside Moscow, with over 1,000 defence companies and weapon manufactures expected to take part.

Russia’s Kalashnikov to supply arms to Malaysia and Thailand

Russian arms producer Kalashnikov, part of state-owned industrial corporation Rostec, will supply arms for civil markets of Malaysia and Thailand under new contracts signed with its partners in the countries, the company said in a statement Friday.

No further details on the contracts were provided.

“The company has managed to neutralize a negative impact of sanctions (imposed on Russia by the West) and expanded its presence in the world,” the company said.

Kalashnikov also continue developing cooperation with partners in other countries of the Asia-Pacific region, whose markets were earlier seemed to be closed for Russian producers due to the dominance of US products; as well as with countries in Africa and Latin America.

The Concern Kalashnikov has signed a partnership agreement with the Department of Industrial Design at the Stroganov Moscow State University of Arts and Industry. The agreement provides for the development of innovative programs and technologies, assistance for the development and implementation of design projects, as well as cooperation in the field of further education for students. Students will be able to participate in the contest to create a design for civilian weapons.

The partners plan to hold regular contests among students of the department of industrial design. The first competition to create a design for small arms intended for civilian use will be held from August 1 to December 10, 2014. Submissions will be accepted until November 20, 2014. Each participant may submit an unlimited number of works for each category.

Plants for the production of Kalashnikov rifles and ammunition in Venezuela will be built soon

1Construction of ammunition plant and Kalashnikovs assembly plant in Venezuela will be completed soon. This was reported today at an arms fair “Eurosatory 2014” by Deputy General Director of “Rosoboronexport” Igor Sevastyanov.

Construction of the plant for the assembly of machines is conducted under the contract signed in July 2006. It is expected that the Venezuelan specialists will develop the full licensed production of AK-103, and the plant will produce about 25 thousand machines a year.

The capacity of the ammunition production was estimated as more than 50 million patrons annually. In last May, CEO of “Izhmash” Konstantin Bulgakov said that the factory will be completed within a year or year and a half. According to him, construction was delayed for several reasons, including political ones.

The managers of the Concern “Kalashnikov JSC consider the Exhibition in France the most convenient platform to show the products made and to negotiate with potential buyers and business partners: “We are in anticipation of meetings with the representatives from the countries of Europe, Middle East, North Africa, South Asia and South-Eastern Asia.”

The company will present its most famous military products: Kalashnikovs in all available calibers, grenade launcher GP-34, Dragunov sniper rifles SVD and SVDS, sniper rifles CB-98 and CB-99 submachine carbine “Vityaz-SN”, combat shotgun 18.5 CSC, guided artillery complexes “Krasnopol” and “Kitolov-2M”.
