Russian paratroopers during the “Slavic brotherhood” exercise held near Novorossiysk will test the “Cornet” antitank missile system before it enters the Airborne Forces, said spokesperson of the Russian Defense Ministry on the Airborne troops, Major Irina Kruglova.
“During the exercise, the anti-tank platoon will perform firings from the “Cornet” anti-tank missile system, which is not on duty of the airborne troops so far. At the request of the commander, when new armaments are received, we must use them on practice,” – Kruglova told reporters on Thursday.
Crews of the Su-24M tactical bombers and Mi-8AMTSh “Terminator” combat transport helicopters will perform at the X International exhibition of arms, military equipment and ammunition named Russia Arms Expo-2015 set to be held in Nizhny Tagil.
“Pilots will apply bombs and unguided rockets against ground targets simulating a column of tanks. Demonstration flights with combat use are scheduled to be held daily from 9 to 12 September at the Staratel site,” – the press service of the Central Military District reported.
Aircraft from airports located in the Chelyabinsk and Sverdlovsk regions will participate in demonstration flights.
The Russian Strategic Missile Forces started teachings using the Unified system for identifying and assessing the extent and effects of weapons of mass destruction, spokesperson of the forces, Colonel Igor Egorov told journalists on Wednesday.
The exercise involves all NBC units without exception (radiation, chemical and biological protection ones).
Tasks suggesting different scenarios of terrorist attacks in the radiologically, chemically and biologically dangerous objects will be worked out during the exercises.
Serbian and Belarusian paratroopers arrived at the site of the international exercise “Slavic brotherhood” and started airborne trainings and exercises, said Tuesday spokesperson of the Defense Ministry press service on the Airborne Forces, Major Irina Kruglova.
The international exercise “Slavic brotherhood” with the participation of Russian, Belarusian and Serbian paratroopers will be held for the first time at the Rajewski site located near Novorossiysk from 2 to 5 September.
“A company of paratroopers from Serbia came to the place of exercise and received Russian equipment, communication means and weapons. The Serb military have passed airborne trainings and have already made their first jump from the Mi-8 helicopter using the Russian parachute system D-10”, – Kruglova said.
Army Aviation helicopters conducted exercises for search and destruction of saboteurs in the Arctic, said CMD spokesperson, Colonel Jaroslav Rostchupkin.
“Helicopters of the Central Military District Army Aviation during the exercise for the search and destruction of subversive groups of the conditional enemy worked out a missile strike and landing of tactical airborne assault on the Taimyr Peninsula”, – he said.
The Central Military District crews have used a new tactics of helicopter ambush using the Mi-8 at the exercise in the Orenburg region. It makes it possible to effectively counteract the highly mobile enemy, said assistant commander of the CMD, Colonel Jaroslav Rostchupkin.
“The crews of the Central Military District have applied a new tactics of helicopter ambush, which extends the capabilities of combat use of the Army Aviation and effectively counteract the highly mobile enemy during the teachings in the Orenburg region,” – said Rostchupkin.
The teachings involved more than 20 Mi-8, Mi-24 and Mi-26 helicopters.
Teachings on the comprehensive provision of troops involving 6,000 servicemen and 750 pieces of equipment will be held from 24 to 29 August in six regions of Russia, the press service of the Defense Ministry said on Monday.
A special exercise will complete a set of measures to prepare for the strategic command-staff exercises “Center-2015”.
“Starting on August 24, in accordance with the Plan of Training of the Russian Armed Forces, a large-scale special teaching on the comprehensive provision of groups of troops is being held. Practical activities will be held from 24 to 29 August 2015 in six regions of the Russian Federation on the territory of the Western and Central Military Districts,” – a statement said.
Russia has started the first Northern Fleet exercises on the defense of an important industrial facility in the Arctic, says head of the Northern Fleet press service, Captain 1st Rank Vadim Serga.
“Today, an interspecies tactical exercise of forces and troops of the Northern Fleet has started in the Arctic. The teaching is held on the Taimyr Peninsula near the city of Norilsk,” – said Serga.
During the exercises, it is planned to work out the organization of interaction of various forces and troops and to check the readiness of personnel and equipment to operate in the Arctic zone in unfamiliar terrain, Serga pointed out.
Russian-Chinese military exercises have started in Primorye, said head of the information support department of the EMD press service, Captain First Rank Roman Martov.
“On August 21, the joint leadership headquarters launched the joint Russian-Chinese naval exercises “Sea Cooperation-2015 (II)”, – he said.
Leaders of the exercises from both sides stressed that the upcoming naval exercises “will not be directed against other states.” As it was previously reported, the main objectives of the exercises will be: working out and improving the organization to conduct joint operations at sea, on the ground and in the air.
About 6 thousand people and 750 pieces of equipment will take part in exercises of the logistics system of the Russian army in late August, Deputy Defense Minister Gen. Dmitry Bulgakov told journalists on Friday.
“From August 24 to August 29, six Russian regions will host large-scale complex special teachings of the logistics system of the military department. The purpose of the exercise is to develop a comprehensive support of troops (forces) in the Central Asian strategic direction,” – said Bulgakov, who was appointed the head of the maneuvers.
According to him, these exercises complete a range of combat trainings of control units, formations, military logistics units in comprehensive support of groups of troops and are a preparatory stage of the strategic command-staff exercise “Center-2015”. “The exercise will involve about 6,000 servicemen and 750 pieces of weapons, military and special equipment, including dozens of pieces of aircraft,” – said Bulgakov.
