The crews of the Air Force of Russia, as well as strategic missile bombers will take part in large-scale command exercise “Vostok 2014”, the Defense Ministry reports.
“The strategic command post exercise” Vostok-2014 “will involve strategic missile bombers Tu-95MS, long-range bombers Tu-22M3, tanker aircraft Il-78, military transport aircraft Il-76 and An-12, airborne detection aircraft A-50, “- said a statement.
According to the Military Department, Air Force crews will work out tasks of redeployment to spare and operational airfields and covering troop columns on the routes. The aviation will also perform anti-missile defense, carry out equipment and personnel landing, conduct aerial reconnaissance and missile and bomb strikes at the ground and sea targets, simulating weapons and military equipment of the imaginary enemy.
