Paratroopers to test “Cornet” complex during exercises in Krasnodar region

Russian paratroopers during the “Slavic brotherhood” exercise held near Novorossiysk will test the “Cornet”  antitank missile system before it enters the Airborne Forces, said spokesperson of the Russian Defense Ministry on the Airborne troops, Major Irina Kruglova.

“During the exercise, the anti-tank platoon will perform firings from the “Cornet” anti-tank missile system, which is not on duty of the airborne troops so far. At the request of the commander, when new armaments are received, we must use them on practice,” – Kruglova told reporters on Thursday.

Russian Navy: Project 11356 frigates to be able to perform tasks in Mediterranean Sea

The ceremony of launching the third production Project 11356 ship “Admiral Makarov” which is being built in the interests of the Russian Navy, took place on September 2, 2015 at the Kaliningrad shipyard “Yantar”. Tryapichnikov added that, if necessary, ships of the “admiral series” can also perform anti-piracy activities and ensure the safety of civilian shipping in remote areas of the oceans, such as the Gulf of Aden and along the coast of the Horn of Africa.

Russian Navy vessel dipped diving bell 450 meters into Atlantic

The ocean rescue ship “Igor Belousov” of the Russian Navy dipped the first diving bell on a working depth of 450 meters in the Atlantic, spokesperson for the Russian Defense Ministry on the Navy, Captain 1st Rank Igor Dygalo said Thursday.

Defense Ministry: “Zvezda” to have orders as long as Pacific Navy exists

The “Zvezda” shipyard located in Primorye will be provided with orders as long as the Russian Pacific Navy exists, said Deputy Defense Minister Yuri Borisov.

Russia’s prospective high-speed helicopter to go into production in 2022

Russia’s prospective high-speed helicopter that is currently being developed in the interests of the Defence Ministry will go into production in 2022 and will be able to make up to 500 kilometres per hour, Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Aerospace Forces Colonel General Viktor Bondarev told reporters on Tuesday.
