“The competition will be held at the training center of engineering troops (Kstovo, Nizhny Novgorod region). At the landfill a complicated route will be prepared, equipped with ford, site of remotely installed minefield obstacle to the task using heavy mechanized bridge, anti-tank ditch and forest debris,” according to the press service of the Ministry, which was received by the “Interfax-AVN” on Tuesday.
Steps to a route will be judged on a point system: for speed, quality, and accuracy of military action to ensure the movement of the tank column will be awarded the highest marks. The final relay race will be held on 12 August.

Scientific squadron of the Military Academy of logistics to unite more than 70 people

This year a scientific squadron of 71 people will be created at the Military Academy Logistics named after Andrei Khrulev, the head of the academy, Lieutenant-General Vladimir Ivanovski said Tuesday.
“The main task that will solve this squadron  is the participation in the scientific research on the problems of logistics system,” Ivanovski said on military history conference on the occasion of the 115th anniversary of the founding of the university.

Crews of the modern Mi-28N “Night Hunter” attack helicopters began trainings on the calculation of the conditional enemy in the Krasnodar region, the Southern Military District press-service reported.

Aviation will for the first time take part in Victory Parade in Rostov-on-Don

The military aviation will for the first time take part in the May 9 parade in Rostov-on-Don in honor of the anniversary of Victory in Great Patriotic War, Southern Military District said.

“The parade will involve about 40 Su-24, Su-25, Su-27, Su-34, MiG-29 and Mi-8, Mi-26, Mi-28, Mi-35, Ka-52 aircraft,”- a statement said.

In total, 17 thousand servicemen of the Southern Military District will participate in the parade. Mechanized columns will consist of about 400 units of weapons, military and special equipment.

“They include the newest “Taifun” armored vehicles, BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicles, “Iskander-M” operational-tactical missile systems, “Tornado” armored vehicles, “Khrisantema” antitank missile systems, “Pantzir-S” anti-aircraft gun complexes and other equipment, “- the district noted.

Russian servicemen rehearsed fight with “extremists” in Transnistria

An operational group of the Russian Forces held a training session on counter-terrorism in the Transnistrian region of Moldova, the Western Military District press-service reported.

Shoigu: Russian Navy performed tasks in four seas during inspection

Navy ships completed tasks in the Barents, Norwegian, Baltic and Black Seas during the sudden readiness check, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said on Monday before the meeting of the military department, devoted to summing up the results of the inspection.

The sudden readiness check of the Northern Fleet, Airborne Troops, long-range and military transport aviation, as well as individual units and formations of all military districts was held from 16 to 21 March on the order of Commander-in-Chief, Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The minister said the inspection was carried out in three stages, each lasted two days.

He noted that during the check the marine groups defeated imaginary enemy’s ships, worked out search for its submarines, amphibious landing and protection of the marine border.

According to Shoigu, airborne units were redeployed to the Kola Peninsula, islands of Novaya Zemlya, Franz Josef Land, and other regions.

Large-scale exercises on aviation and air defense control started in Eastern Russia

Teachings on the control over aviation groups and air defense troops with practical actions started in the Eastern Military District, the press service of the Defense Ministry reported.

The servicemen will, in particular, have to work out actions of groups of forces in repelling massive missile and air strikes of the imaginary enemy. It is not specified how many people are involved in the teachings, but it involves the military units of air defense, aviation, radar troops and means of electronic warfare, reconnaissance and mechanized infantry units stationed in Buryatia, Trans-Baikal, Khabarovsk, Primorye, Kamchatka Territories, Amur and Sakhalin regions.

Russian Defense Ministry to reconstruct 1942 “Uran” operation

Russian servicemen will reconstruct the artillery preparation for the 1942 Stalingrad operation under the codename “Uran”, which became the beginning of a fundamental turning point in World War II, the CMD press-service says.

“On the eve of the 70th anniversary of the victory in World War II, artillerists of the CMD combined arms unit in the Orenburg region will reconstruct the artillery preparation held at the beginning of 1942 Stalingrad offensive operation on April, 3. The training will involve more than a thousand servicemen and 200 pieces of military equipment,” – a statement said.

Multiple rocket launchers used in the “Uran” operation will be replaced with modern equivalents. Thus, instead of the famous “Katyusha” guards mortars, “Grad” and “Uragan” MLRS will be involved in the reconstruction.
