The Krylov State Research Center developed a project of the “Lavina” amphibious assault helicopter-carrier ship with a displacement of 24,000 tons as the replacement of “Mistrals”, a senior official in the Military-Industrial Complex told RIA Novosti at the “Army 2015” exhibition on Friday.
Russia and France are still negotiating on the transfer of the first “Mistral” ship, however, so far the parties haven’t been able to come to a common decision. At the same time, the Neva Design Bureau has also developed a draft of the “Priboy” landing ship with a displacement of 14,000 tons, which could become an alternative to the French “Mistral”.
